Frequently Asked Questions About Genie Telescopic Boom Lifts
What is a Genie telescopic boom lift?
A Genie telescopic boom lift (also called a straight boom lift) is an aerial work platform with a straight, extendable arm that provides maximum horizontal and vertical reach. Unlike articulating boom lifts, telescopic models extend in a straight line, making them ideal for jobs that require long, direct access to high areas.
Where are Genie telescopic boom lifts commonly used?
These lifts are ideal for:
Construction sites
Steel erection and framework
Bridge and highway work
Large-scale industrial projects
Outdoor maintenance on tall structures
They’re especially useful when you need to reach across wide gaps or work at high elevations without obstructions.
What’s the difference between telescopic and articulating boom lifts?
Telescopic boom lifts extend in a straight line for maximum outreach and are best for open areas.
Articulating boom lifts have multiple joints that allow for up-and-over maneuverability, making them ideal for tight or obstructed spaces.
Choose a telescopic boom when reach and height are more important than flexibility.
