This 2026 JLG 1500SJ Telescopic Boom Lift has just 4 hours and provides exceptional vertical height, horizontal reach, and rough-terrain capability for demanding elevated work applications.
Part of JLG’s Ultra Boom series, the 1500SJ offers a 150-foot platform height, approximately 156-foot working height, and nearly 80 feet of horizontal outreach. Its dual platform capacity provides 500 pounds unrestricted and 1,000 pounds restricted, accommodating personnel, tools, and materials at extreme heights.
Equipped with a diesel-powered engine, four-wheel drive, and heavy-duty rough-terrain tires, this machine is designed for demanding outdoor jobsites. The telescoping jib provides additional platform positioning flexibility, while continuous 360-degree rotation allows operators to access multiple work areas without repositioning the chassis.
This unit also features JLG’s SkyPower system, providing auxiliary electrical power for tools and equipment at the platform. Its combination of exceptional reach, precise positioning, and rough-terrain mobility makes it well suited for structural steel installation, industrial maintenance, commercial construction, and large-scale infrastructure projects.

A JLG telescopic boom lift, also known as a straight boom lift, is an aerial work platform with a single, extendable boom arm that provides direct horizontal and vertical reach. These lifts are ideal when you need to access hard-to-reach areas without obstructions, such as tall buildings, rooftops, or elevated work zones in wide-open spaces.
JLG telescopic boom lifts are used in:
Commercial and industrial construction
Oil, gas, and utility work
Stadium and event venue maintenance
Bridge and highway repair
Steel erection and assembly
They’re perfect for projects where you need to reach far and high with minimal setup time.
Telescopic boom lifts extend in a straight line, offering maximum reach and speed—best for open job sites.
Articulating boom lifts have multiple joints and are better for maneuvering around obstacles or working in tighter spaces.
If your job requires long, straight access at height, a telescopic boom lift is often the better choice.
